Comprehensive Prevention and Control Techniques for Water Inrush from Faults in Zhaogu No.2 Coal Mine

    • To solve the problem of fault water inrush in Jiaozuo Mining Area, high-density three-dimensional seismic exploration was used to detect faults and strata near 11011 working face in Zhaogu No.2 coal mine. Based on the results of geophysical exploration, a numerical model was established to analyze the mechanism of water inrush from faults, and a comprehensive pre-reinforcement technique was proposed and applied to the working face. Results showed that the degree of fault activation caused by mining in the hanging wall was stronger than that caused by mining in the footwall. Combing the results from the seismic exploration, the comprehensive pre-reinforcement technique effectively reduced the risk of water inrush from faults, and the inflow of each hole after grouting did not exceed 3 m3/h. The comprehensive prevention and control techniques for water inrush from faults, which considered the activation characteristics of faults based on accurate geophysical exploration, verified its feasibility through successful application in practice.
