Abstract:
Aiming at the occurrence characteristics and mining challenges of deep coal resources in Huainan Mining Area, namely “high gas content, high ground pressure, high ground temperature, and large burial depth”, this study takes Panxie Mining Area as the engineering geological background and conducts research on key technologies for deep gas control through a combination of theoretical research, field measurement, numerical inversion, and industrial tests. Through establishing a stratigraphic division and stratigraphic model of Panxie Mining Area, the ground stress field inversion was carried out, and the distribution law of the deep ground stress field in the mining area was systematically revealed, and the stress characteristics dominated by tectonic stress in deep strata were clarified. The value ranges of the maximum principal stress, minimum principal stress, maximum lateral pressure coefficient, and minimum lateral pressure coefficient at different levels and coal seam positions, as well as the azimuth angle interval of the maximum principal stress in each mine, were determined. Meanwhile, the correlation between ground stress and the layout orientation of horizontal sections of surface gas wells was deeply explored. Comparative analysis of plastic zone development degree and daily gas production was carried out for five included angle working conditions: 0°, 30°, 45°, 60°, and 90°. The results show that the smaller the included angle, the lower the fracture propagation resistance, the larger the propagation range, the higher the daily gas production, and the better the gas extraction effect. Field industrial tests were carried out in Pan’er Coal Mine. The measured data are highly consistent with the simulation results, verifying the positive role of ground stress in the layout orientation of horizontal sections of surface gas wells.
