Abstract:
To address the control difficulty of continuous surrounding rock deformation in large-section chambers at roadway intersections under strong mining disturbance, a study on the stress distribution law and deformation-failure characteristics of large-section chambers was carried out by means of theoretical analysis and field testing, combined with FLAC
3D software. The engineering background was the upper horizontal roadway of the haulage rise in the No. 9 Coal Mine of Hebi Coal and Electricity Co., Ltd. The vertical stress distribution, displacement variation and plastic zone failure characteristics of the three-centered arch section of the upper horizontal roadway and the large-section chamber under different excavation conditions with and without mining disturbance, the evolution laws of vertical stress, surrounding rock displacement increment and plastic zone of the large-section chamber with the advance of the working face were analyzed. The results show that the large roadway section and concentrated roadway layout are the main causes of deformation and failure of the large-section chamber under the condition of no mining dynamic pressure. The mining influence on the roadway can be divided into three stages: non-disturbance, weak disturbance and strong disturbance. In the strong disturbance stage, the displacement of the large-section chamber accounts for 76.4% of the total displacement, and the vertical stress on the left side reaches 32.37 MPa, which is 1.24 times that on the right side. The roof subsidence caused by working face mining is 1.88 times the floor heave, and the deformation of the left sidewall is 2.43 times that of the right sidewall. In addition, the plastic zone caused by working face mining is connected with that of the roadway, which significantly enlarges the deformation and failure range of surrounding rock and increases the difficulty of support. Based on the causes and laws of deformation and failure of large-section chambers, a combined support technology integrating bolt-mesh-cable active support, grouting support and passive support is proposed. The combined support scheme, namely “semi-circular arch U36 steel support + 7-shaped U36 steel support + grouting bolts + grouting cables”, are designed and successfully applied to the large-section chamber at the roadway intersection. This study provides an important reference for surrounding rock control of similar roadways.
