Analysis of intelligent technical standards for underground trackless auxiliary transportation in coal mines

    • To address the problem that the lack of an intelligent technical standard system for underground trackless auxiliary transportation in coal mines severely restricts industrial upgrading as well as safe and efficient development, based on the complex underground environment characterized by insufficient lighting, electromagnetic interference, and stringent explosion-proof requirements, as well as the current challenges that mainstream explosion-proof diesel locomotives are characterized by high pollution, high energy consumption and poor adaptability to unmanned operation while explosion-proof battery locomotives have great potential yet are constrained by technical maturity and standard support, this study systematically analyzed over 500 relevant domestic and international standards. By means of literature analysis, establishment of a performance index evaluation system and multi-dimensional standard comparison, in-depth research was conducted on core modules including underground unmanned driving technology and drive-by-wire chassis. The results show that the intelligent coverage rate of the existing standard system is less than 1%, with significant gaps identified particularly in areas such as underground-specific drive-by-wire chassis, data security and multi-sensor fusion. Meanwhile, the existing standards suffer from long ages and poor coordination. Therefore, an innovative three-level intelligent technical standard system of “basic and general-technical specification-evaluation index” was established to adapt to the special underground working conditions. A supporting modular classification and dynamic iteration mechanism was developed, which maps technical capabilities to standard requirements by grade. Through a feedback loop, the standards are updated in step with technological development, thus realizing a positive mapping between technical capabilities and standard levels. Specifically, the improvement of technical maturity automatically meets the requirements of higher-level standards, while the reverse does not hold. This system effectively resolves the issues of standard lag and insufficient scenario adaptability. The research can provide standardized support for intelligent underground mine transportation, which is expected to significantly reduce labor costs, improve transportation efficiency and safety, shorten the investment payback period, and substantially enhance the operational safety of miners.
