Testing Research on Broken Rock Zone of Surrounding Rock in Steep Inclined Thick Seam

In order to determine broken rock zone and ensure the stability of surrounding rock, on the basis of analyzing broken rock zone mechanism of steep inclined thick seam with ground penetrating radar (GPR), A GPR test is used to detect broken rock zone in 43^# coal seam north roadway of Xinjiang Wudong Coal Mine north mining area east-side. It indicated that scope of broken rock zone was 2.2 to 2.3 m, which would be optimized with φ18 mm and 2.4 m long strong metal bolt.
