Design of Slurry System for Slurry Balanced Pipe Jacking Machine in Coal Mine

Slurry system is the core of slurry balance pipe jacking technology, the researches on which are scarce in coal mine all along. Combined with previous engineering experience and environmental characteristics of coal mine, the slurry system design suited for coal mine construction was presented, including determination of the pipe diameter, flow velocity and flow rate, calculation of pipe resistance, selection of the pump and application of the high efficient mud treatment system. In the actual construction process in coal mine, the slurry system runs stably and has strong ability to carry muck, which verifies the feasibility of the process design method.
